Welcome everyone, my name is Brian and I have just purchased my first home. It is a Lannon Stone Ranch that was built in 1951. I am very excited to make this home mine with the updates that I have planned for it.
I had been looking to purchase a home for well over a year. I looked at many and was interested in a few. Unfortunately, all the homes I had been interested in were sold by the time I had tried to look at them. It seemed like a long, never-ending journey to find the right house. While driving around one Sunday looking at a lot of houses around the area I found one that was for sale by owner. I thought it looked interesting and I took a flyer from the sign and wrote down the number.
I then proceeded to a few more open houses that I had planned to look at. At the end of the day, on the way home, I turned down the street in which the for sale by owner house was. Little did I know, this would be the street I was going to live off of. As I came to the corner I realized that the owner was having an open house so I stopped in to look at it. I immediately fell in love with the place.
After looking around for another week or so, I compared every house I saw to the one on Glenn. Something about the house just drew me back to it so I called the owner and made an offer. My offer was shortly accepted and the paperwork was pushed through quickly. I was in a race against time to get the mortgage approved and signed so I could get the new home buyer tax credit.
On November 25th, 2009 I became a first time home buyer. This blog will chronicle the story of my first home and all the updates I will do to it. I am very excited to get the projects rolling and share the progress of my home with friends and family.
Hope you all enjoy the ride as much as I will.
